Why the heck are we STILL using Prowl H20® Herbicide in the Southeast?

As a layman plant pathologist, I decided to ask Dr. Eric Prostko of UGA a question that has been burning in my mind: “Why the heck are we still using Prowl – what is it actually bringing to the table compared to other types of chemistries?” Simple answer:

“Prowl is the best thing we have for annual grasses – especially Texas millet”

“Whether you want to call it Texas millet, Texas panicum, buffalograss, or bullgrass, Prowl is still one of the best PRE herbicides on the market. In other words, it’s still one of the best grass herbicides out there, and it’s absolutely critical for helping us control Texas millet.”
