As I sit here early Saturday morning with a cool crisp, South TX breeze blowing through my open windows, for the first time this year, I love this time of year. Fall is upon us and we are done harvesting cotton in South and East TX. Exciting times (maybe) as all the data and gin recaps start coming in on what I would call a very tough year for us. Even with the tough year we had, FiberMax 2498GLT shined for the 4th year in a row. It started with great emergence and early season vigor in very marginal planting conditions and weathered the hot dry summer to produce cotton. Data from internal APT trials and key-third-party trials ranked FM 2498GLT as one of the strongest, most consistent varieties for the Coastal Bend part of South TX over the last 4 years. No doubt in my mind, this variety has a fit that will deliver value on the farm.
