Rhizoctonia is a serious disease in potatoes that can damage both stems and tubers. It must be managed preventatively. Using a fungicide like Priaxor in-furrow at planting alone or in combination with a fungicide seed piece treatment can effectively manage it.
Rhizoctonia forms brown lesions on stems. If severe enough it can reduce plant stand count. In more moderate situations it can reduce tuber number and yield. When Rhizoctonia grows on tubers it causes black scurf (dark brown to black masses on the surface of the tuber). Using Priaxor to manage Rhizoctonia protects your yield potential and quality.
