Want to Knockout Kochia?

Kochia is a summer annual weed that you want to knockout! This weed originated in Asia and is now a very problematic weed, particularly in the western United States. Here are three identifying characteristics of this broadleaf weed:

1. Kochia is erect, branched weed that forms a conical shape. The stems range from 1 to 4 feet high and can have a reddish tint.
2. The leaves are arranged alternately. They are 1-2 inches long, sessile (without petioles), and taper to a point. Hairs can usually be found along the leaf margins.
3. Kochia’s flowers are inconspicuous, small, and green!
