Cicadas are plentifu

Cicadas are plentiful along the East Coast this Spring. This is a 13-year periodical cicada I found in Central NC. They start emerging when soil temperatures hit around 65 F. This is about the same soil temperature that Palmer amaranth begins germinating.

It is important to time your residual herbicides with these rising soil temperatures so you get them applied and activated prior to a flush of weeds.
